Hunting for Trolls

After dropping off the girls at Girls Camp, my mom and I headed to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to see my cousin Shannon and her mom, Jody. It was from there that we continued on further to Raleigh.  I have been to Raleigh once before, but it was a very long time ago, and we really didn't explore much.  If I remember correctly, we stopped by the business school where Frank visited some friends, and then, before heading out of town, we ate at Foster's Market.  The food was delicious. Raleigh is currently the home to 5 of Thomas Dambo's trolls.  They are located in Dorothea Dix Park.  Having not spent much time preparing, I found it a little difficult to find the trolls, but thankfully, since I am not afraid to ask others for help, we were able to locate all 5. It was also confusing because some of the buildings located in the park were boarded up.  I thought it was an old college campus, but it turns out it was a medical facility that has since been relocated. Some of the buildings will be preserved, and others will be demolished; however, there is a long-term plan to make the park a fantastic place for all to enjoy. The park covers 308 acres and includes walking trails, a dog park, a state-of-the-art playground, and other art installations, offering a fantastic view of the Raleigh skyline.
