Knoxville
After viewing the caves, we drove to Knoxville. We were starving, so we drove out to Cruze Farm Diary. The name of the ice cream store and pizza place could be clearer because it isn't on a farm, but the buildings are super cute with cute decor. The food was some of the best I have had in a long time. It was just pizza and ice cream, but it was the creme de la creme of pizza and ice cream. Yummy! Then, I went to the hotel to swim and watch a movie on the computer. The next morning, we woke up to pouring rain. It certainly wasn't what we envisioned for the day. We did a drive-through of the city sites. We saw the Sunsphere, the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, Market Square, The James White Fort, The Historic Ramsey House, and the campus of the University of Tennessee before heading to Raising Cains, where we met up with our friend Madison and her darling girls. We ended the day with some retail therapy and Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. While the rain rained on our parade, so we will have to go back. The good thing is that we were safe, given the impending hurricane that visited Eastern Tennessee.

That sounds like a great trip.
Pieter studied in 1986 at the University of Tennessee and I took my Parents there and showed them the Sunsphere and also went back with Pieter a couple of years ago to walk around and relive moments from the past for him.
Hoping you all were safe during the Hurricane Helene's passing.
Just got my power back on after almost 5 days...
Hugs,
Mariette
