Paper "Corner View"

I have a love-hate relationship with paper.  On the one hand paper is useful for so many things like this cute little creation from Addy or books that I so dearly love.  Yes, I am one of the last few people to convert to electronic books.  My husband even gave me a tablet recently and told me to download all the books I want to till my little heart is content, but I just can't.  I love the smell of the paper and turning the pages. The opportunity to underline a great quote or turn down the corner of the page when I need to remember the page I am on. Electronic books are just not the same.  We go through a ridiculous amount of paper in this house as I have a couple budding artists.  Addy could paint for hours if you would let her and even Roman has a creative streak.  My hate comes in stacks of paper throughout my house.  I feel like I am in a constant battle.  I throw one piece away and two or three seem to spring up in its place.

What a lovely piece of artwork on the plate!
I know what you mean about piles of paper... and then I can never find the important bits which I'm convinced I've somehow accidentally thrown out!

Awesome fish!! And I, too, love "real" books. As the song says, "Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby!"

I am also a paper book girl...and love to take one, one day and just take a look of what I read...or some poems or drawings...or just photos...have them there just to take them when one needs.

I remember at a women's group that I am a part of, a young participant said with a very since-I-am-young-and-therefore-must-know-everything heir, that in her opinion, books are essentially unnecessary since everything is either online or can be found as an e-book. You should have seen the wide-eyed look of shock and disbelief when I told her that I much prefer books to be something that I can hold in my hands instead of reading from a computer screen.

Well then, let those little artist bud! We go through an insane amount of paper too with my two little artists. They much prefer a blank sheet of paper to coloring pages any day... they are much more creative that way.

Addy's fish is so adorable! Did you travel to the beach yet? We were going to venture out this month, but Soccer tournaments are being held at the main beach in front of the boardwalk on the weekends.
i like a mix between the two...the thing with e-books is that you can't write in them...and the thing with paperbacks is that they take up so much space.
I do love your artwork though....there will always be paper enough for that kind of stuff. I end up recycling a lot of paper....junk mail and that kind of stuff.

I can relate to those endless stacks. And I like the feel of a book in my hands too.

I'm the same way, too! I love reading "real" books, but I think I might cave and get a Kindle mainly for summer traveling. We go through many books very quickly and I don't want to be lugging so many books with us only to have finish them very quickly and then lugging them all back. Plus, I am fast running out of shelf space!

I have an e-book also, but end of using the hardbacks from the library for the same reasons that you stated. The e-book is easier to prop on a bike or treadmill at the gym though.

i don't like digital books either, but i'm also plagued by the too many books in the house syndrome, and I haven't found a solution to this yet!
