Lisbon Part One

After leaving Sintra, we made our way to Lisbon.  Sintra is just about a half-hour drive out of the city, so we were able to make it into the city before sunset.  Our first stop was Belem Tower located in the area known as Belem.  There you will find a nice boardwalk, the Age of Exploration Monument, wonderful restaurants, and some of the best egg tarts on the planet.  Egg Tarts or otherwise called Pasteis de Nata are served fresh and hot right out of the oven with a packet of cinnamon and powdered sugar.  We tried them plain and with cinnamon sugar and both are equally good.  Then it was off to our hotel where we choose to stay out by the airport since we would be leaving out of so early in the morning.  Whoever thought that someone would want to get up at 2 in the morning to check in and depart by 5 a.m. is out of their mind, but in order to get the frequent miles, that is what a girl has to do. Stay tuned for part 2 of Lisbon.

I visited Lisbon. Wonderful city! Digital cameras were not common in those days, so my photos are not of your photos' quality.I've greatly enjoyed your photos that reminded me of the landmarks of the city.

Beautiful architecture.
Dearest Kelleyn,
That is familiar territory what you show in your photos here.
Rekindling fond memories...
Oh yes, we both have done the 'red-eye' flights for special tariffs or whatever! Having been over 1,500,000 miles up in the air, you've done it all.
Hugs,
Mariette
