Friends with Babies

Our season of life with little babies is over and to be honest I am thankful.  At least until we have grandchildren and I think we are at least 10 years away from that season.  On Thanksgiving our friends came over with their son who I have photographed in the past.  He is now walking and so adorable. Right before dinner I took him and his family down the street for a quick photo shoot. It was so sweet to watch my girls play with him later that day.  My favorite memory of that day is feeding him off my plate, and to my surprise he loved the cranberry sauce.

Cain Creek Waterfalls

On Saturday, we were feeling a little stir crazy and so we loaded up in the car and headed north towards Dahlonga.  The weather was gorgeous and I am glad we went because today the clouds rolled in along with cold temperatures; however, we are glad for that too and are praying for rain because the state is in a major drought.  Our first stop was Cain Creek Waterfall.  It might not look much, but it is a lot taller than it appears. Dahlonga is a great starting point for lots waterfall hoping. While we only went to Cain Creek on Saturday, we have been to many of the others in the area such as Desoto, Amicalola Falls, and if you want to head even a little farther north Anna Ruby Falls. After visiting the waterfall, we went to one of the little dinners and got BLT sandwiches and hot dogs. Nana treated the girls to a piece of candy from the candy store.  The town is super cute right now as it is all decked out for Christmas.

Staycation

Hi!  Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!  We have had a pretty relaxing week around here as we stayed put and didn't travel anywhere this fall break. I mean to be honest after traveling so much this summer, I am a little burnt out, so we decided to make this week a staycation.  On Monday, a little boy who lived in the same orphanage as Avery and his mom came to visit from Alabama.  It was so fun meeting them and getting to know their family.  We choose to meet up at the aquarium.  It was the first time for this little boy, Avery, and Ivy.  They all loved it! Afterwards we played in Centennial Park for a good hour or so and then it was time to come home. On another note, it has been 8 months today since we added Ivy to our family.  The time is flying by fast!  It feels like she has always been with us and with each day passing we adore her even more.

Second Born

While he may be my second born child, Winston is no way second in my heart. I adore this son of mine. While he would probably be mad at me for saying this he is the sweetest and most thoughtful person I know.  He is always willing to help me out and while he doesn't always want to do the things I ask him to do he does them.  On my most recent birthday he gave me a birthday card that said something to the affect of Mom thank you so much for being the best mom.  You make the best food. You take such good care of us and you always make sure we have a clean house to live in.  Happy Birthday Mom!  He is the baby whisperer.  The little ones adore him.  He is a lover of sports, loves music, skateboarding, and is smart.  I am so grateful to have him in my life and I am so glad he is my son.

Splendid

Isn't this tree just splendid? The past couple days I have been blessed with the opportunity to watch the leaves turn from green to this wonderful orange red.  I hope the leaves will still be on the tree come Thanksgiving.  We have a full house this year.  My husband invited a bunch of colleges from his work to share thanksgiving with us, and am a little nervous about the whole thing because 6 kids is a lot for people to handle; especially, when they don't have children of their own.  Thankfully, I am not a novice cook, so the dinner should go off without a hitch.  Gotta pick up the Turkeys tomorrow on our way home from the city.  We are going to meet some friends downtown to play.  On another note, my oldest son just got his first acceptance letter.  The University of Georgia has said, "Yes." He has a few more schools on his list and we should hear from them in the next several weeks.  To celebrate we went to see the new J.K. Rowling movie Fantastical Beast.  It lived up to it's name and was pretty fantastic.  Right now I am really loving the music group Piano Guys.  Thinking of buying tickets to their next concert, but the only problem is that they aren't playing in our city, so if I want to see them I will have to drive a few hours to see them.  Darn it!  Wonder why they aren't playing here given we are such a large city.  I love their song It's is Going be OK.  The song just makes me plain happy.  Do you have a song that does that for you?  Well, it is late and I have to get up early in the morning.  Hope you had a great weekend?  What did you do this weekend?  Are you planning on going to someones house for Thanksgiving or are you hosting dinner at your house, and if so what is your favorite side dish?  I need to make sure I have a couple of vegetarian options on my menu since we have a few guest who don't eat meat.  See you soon!

Fall Glory

Oh my!  This week minus the smoke from a neighboring city's wildfires has been glorious .  Fall is putting on a splendid show.  My booked photo shoots are coming to an end for the year.  I have three more on the calendar and then I will be taking a break until spring.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to have been given the privilege to capture these moments in time.  I feel like I have grown so much as a photographer and yet I have still far to go in my growth.   This past week I had the joy of capturing this sweet family.  I quote from the oldest of the two boys, "I don't believe in Santa.  Don't you know he isn't real."  I adored how the mom was able to get the youngest of the two boys to smile by saying,"now don't you smile, don't you smile," and he burst into giggles.
